bamboo experiment in progress

In Karjat at the Magic Bus Campus 8 huts are being constructed out of bamboo. This lightweight construction reduces the amount of material required. The complex geometry with oddly tilting walls and roofs emphasize the temporary character of the village. Additionally each hut is slightly differently shaped exploring the boundaries of the ‘crafted’ and the ‘prefabricated’. Each member is made in a professional workshop set up on site. The on site workshop allows for flexibility in the length and joinery of each member since assembly is immediate.
