Architecture BRIO features for the third year in a row in the AD50. The Architectural Digest India magazine curates this list on a yearly basis, highlighting the best architects and most influential design professionals in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. As proponents of experimentation, Architecture BRIO was listed amongst ‘the progressives’. Their projects represent a radical way of practice in architecture. Since 2014, the Architectural Digest surveys the Indian design world in order to discover new talent. However, while they scout for new and upcoming design practices, they also review the relevance of established ones.

This year, the authoritative magazine selected Architecture BRIO amongst the best architects and designers, considering their contribution with the Tala Treehouse Resort. Each project of Architecture BRIO is an unwinding story in which a series of spaces unfold. Through a progression of light and darkness, textures and rhythm they evoke different emotional and memorable responses.

Project in Focus:

A Tree house on a 180-acre hilltop property called Forest Hills. The structure has a large thatched roof conceived as an ‘oversized sun umbrella’. In addition a curved timber framed glass window wraps around to take in the dense views. “It redefines conventions – like what a bathroom is or how you bathe in a forest.”
